The 2013 La Tour Blanche is pale to medium straw-gold in color. It gives up chalky, delicate scents of citrus and white peach with a hint of chamomile. Intense and elegantly styled on the palate, it features amazing tension and length, with a saline finish.

The 2013 La Tour Blanche has a rather simple bouquet compared to other vintages, with touches of adhesive infusing the dried honey scents. The palate is well balanced and lightly spiced with a tang of marmalade, stem ginger and quince. It has moderate depth, leading to a powerful but not overly complex finish.

Sauternes Fine Wine

Sauternes

Sauternes, a renowned Bordeaux appellation in the Graves region, is famous for its luxurious sweet white wines made from Sémillon, Sauvignon Blanc, and Muscadelle grapes affected by noble rot (Botrytis cinerea). This fungus concentrates sugars, creating wines with rich sweetness balanced by vibrant acidity. Sauternes wines feature complex aromas and flavours of apricot, honey, peach, citrus, and vanilla, with excellent ageing potential. Top producers include Château d'Yquem, Château Rieussec, Château Suduiraut, and Château Coutet.
